41Drawings Workshop @ Institut Suedois, PARIS

24/03/2024 2pm till 4pm.

Each person is given a small A6 sketchbook and a stick of graphite. The objective of the workshop is to walk through the free exhibitions and make 41 fast paced drawings in 2 hours.

We will be visiting the free exhibition at the Institut Suedois:

Suivre les ondes: Lars Fredrikson in resonance with Anastasia Ax and Christine Ödlund

An exhibition with images, sculptures, poetry, readings, animated objects, movement and sound.

In spring 2024, the Institut suédois will be presenting a selection of Lars Fredrikson’s works alongside pieces by two contemporary artists, Anastasia Ax and Christine Ödlund, whose multi-facetted practice moves freely within a broad range of expressive approaches including sculpture, images, performance art, movement and sound. They also share with Lars Fredrikson a fascination with the way energy circulates and is transformed via different materials and the way different life forms and states communicate. The exhibition features large hammered and folded stainless steel sheets, electro-mechanical sculptures, motorised canvases, sound pieces and “subversive writings” by Lars Fredrikson, esoteric watercolours and electro-acoustic installations of plants by Christine Ödlund, and lacerated plaster pieces and performative installations by Anastasia Ax.

There will be lots of objects and starting points for conversation and inspiration to make some drawings. All abilities welcome and this workshop is free to access.

This specific session is hosted by Nima @nima.shafiani who works as an artist in today's London.

We will meet as a group at the main entrance of the Institut Suedois at 1.45pm and the session will start at 2pm.
