About
41 Drawings workshop @ Whitworth art Gallery, Manchester.
Free ticket can be booked on this Eventbrite link:
This free workshop is open to all, and is a great way to loosen up, build momentum and create artworks in a small group.
Each person is given a small A6 sized sketchbook and a graphite stick, we will then roam around the galleries and try to each create 41 quick-fire drawings in 2 hours.
The main free exhibition we will focus on is 'MATERIAL POWER' which shares the work and history of Palestinian embroidery.
The exhibition includes information on forms of resistance used by people in Palestine against military occupation and illegal settlement-building by the forces and state of today's Israel.

If we have time/energy we can explore the Traces of Displacement exhibition, which is likely to generate discussion for our session.
