The KOOP PROJECT is a 10 month exhibitions programme taking place between November 2015 – August 2016 in Brighton, curated by Katie Simpson.
About
The PROJECT invites artists to engage with the outside environment, pushing practices away from the studio/gallery and into a shed, garden patio and disused chicken coop.
This aim seeks to respond to the stagnation of free and autonomous art spaces in Brighton, cultivating a regular offering of exhibitions that focuses solely on the artists and their practice.
The KOOP PROJECT will terminate after 10 months and all participation thereafter is thus withdrawn.
The KOOP PROJECT is also home to Surrenden Sculpture Garden.
The KOOP PROJECT presents its next incarnation - #4. Fiona Winterflood taking place in Surrenden Sculpture Garden this month.
Winterflood has previously exhibited at Brighton's artistic and cultural hub, Community Arts Centre, with representation by Brighton's only art hall, Neue Froth Kunsthalle.
For #4. Koop Project, Winterflood will present a site-specific installation that explores her practice in an outside environment - on show for one night only.
