3x3 is ESA's series of talks and workshops for visual arts practitioners is back! Our 3x3 programme invites international curators and artists to present their experiences to groups of visual arts practitioners which then in turn will create group discussion and debate. Wednesday 15 October 2008 - Hetain Patel Times: 2-2.45pm, informal networking 2.45-4.30pm, presentation and debate 4.30 - 5.30pm, informal networking with wine & homemade cake Venue: To be confirmed ADVANCE BOOKING REQUIRED — LIMITED PLACES. Tel: 0113 248 0040 More on Hetain Patel: Patel's practice interrogates various sensory forms of language, communication and cultural identity. Often using his own body as a site for these discussions he strives to find connections with his heritage through the exploration of physics, rituals and Indian classical music. Graduating from Nottingham Trent's Fine Art course in 2003 and receiving the Arts Council England Decibel award in 2004 Patel has shown nationally at venues including Tate Britain and London Printworks and internationally in New York, Germany and Italy. Currently, Patel is researching into the science of the heartbeat in collaboration with Nottingham University and will soon be exhibiting in Nottingham's New Art Exchange's inaugural exhibition Next We Change Earth. In 2009, Hetain takes up resiedency at 501 Arts Space in Chongqing, China. The 3x3 talk will be held in Chapeltown, Leeds, venue tbc. Please ring ESA on 0113 248 0040 for more info.
