An informal reading group session, which will act as an opportunity to discuss the newly commissioned moving image works by Lucy Clout and Marianna Simnett, and reflect on the original curatorial premise of 'What Will They See of Me?'

About

For this session we will be reading the following:

The Burrow, Franz Kafka, selected by Steven Bode, Director, Film and Video Umbrella.

Of Hospitality, Anne Dufourmantelle invites Jacques Derrida to respond, selected by Lauren Houlton, Gallery Assistant, Jerwood Visual Arts.

Using these two pre-selected texts as a starting point, we hope to consider the duality of simultaneous welcoming and distancing that can arguably be involved in the anxious upkeep and development of an online identity, and the result of always being ‘on show’ and contactable.

Participants are asked to read the texts beforehand. To book a free place and receive a PDF please click here.
