CFCCA are proud to present Social Behaviours, an exciting collection of solo works by the bold, individual and experimental Beijing based artist Li Binyuan. His work ranges from sculpture to video-art to live-action pieces, expressed and performed through a number of public disturbances of Beijing’s social life.

The exhibition showcases the films which form part of these ephemeral performances, through which Binyuan challenges and questions widely held beliefs and ideas with a playful inventiveness and an unbounding sense of artistic freedom.

The artist will join us in presenting the UK debut of his one of his most ground breaking pieces, Deathless Love, performed live on 14 May as part of Manchester After Hours 2015, a city-wide evening celebration of culture.

Li Binyuan was born in China in 1985. He graduated from Central Academy of Art in Beijing with a B.A. in sculpture in 2011.

His recent exhibitions include: Unlived by What is Seen, GALLERIA CONTINUA /Beijing, Beijing Voice: Unlived by What is Seen, Pace Beijing, “Who’s Dreams” (Today Art Museum, Beijing, 2014, solo); “Reservoir Dogs” (ACTION SPACE, Beijing, 2014, solo); “I have Issues” (Gallery Yang, Beijing, 2013, solo);”The spring of a dirty gutter” (yellow.ants.art.lab@55, Shanghai, 2013, solo); “Deathless Love” (front.room.loop@55, Shanghai, 2013); “Small Leap” (PSA, Shanghai, 2014); “POLYPHONY” (AMNUA-CN, Nanjing, 2014); “The 8 Paths” (Uferhallen, Berlin, 2014); “Any rugged stuff will vanish”, (Kabuso Art Museum, Bergen, Norway, 2013); “Crossroads•Another Dimension” (He Xiangning Art Museum/ Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts/Macao Museum of Art/ Hong Kong City Hall, 2013); “FUCK OFF 2″ (Groninger Museum, Netherlands, 2013); “Busan Flower Village International Nature Arts Festival (Busan, Korea, 2012); “Representation of Realistic Art” (The Fifth Chengdu Biennale, China, 2011).
