StolenSpace is pleased to present ‘Freedom', a group exhibition presented in association with Urban Nation as part of their ongoing series, Project M in Berlin this June.

About

Urban Nation will be the first institution worldwide to exclusively collect and exhibit contemporary graffiti and street art. In anticipation of the opening, the organisation has invited internationally acclaimed artists and curators to be a part of Project M, an ongoing art initiative with the goal of promoting community and creative exchange. The three aspects of Project M include a group exhibition, street murals and ten paintings placed in the window panels of the institution.

‘Freedom’ curated by StolenSpace, inspired by the cities political past & present, will be the 7th & final instalment of Project M. Featuring new original artworks by 10 of the worlds most established and emerging urban artists: Shepard Fairey, D*Face, Maya Hayuk, Cyrcle., Word To Mother, Miss Van, The London Police, Joram Roukes, Snik & Evoca1.

The 10 artists exhibiting in ‘Freedom' will also travel to Berlin to create unique public art pieces. All artists will create new works on 10x10 foot panels, which will then be placed in windows on the ground floor of Urban Nation buidling. These pieces will be visible to the general public until the o f f i c i a l opening (scheduled for 2016) and some of which will become part of the future institution’s permanent collection. As well as this, Maya Hayuk will paint a large-scale mural on the façade of Urban Nation building and Shepard Fairey, D*Face, Cyrcle & Word to Mother will be creating large scale public wall murals at a nearby location.
