About
Jasna: Continually challenging my own approach to painting and picture making
Trying to capture moments of tranquility, atmosphere, one fleeting moment of illuminous light...
Visiting the places , meeting new people , immersing in the land and embracing cultural heritage is more than seeing the sights; it is a change that goes deep inside touching on the very core of my believes and serving as my inspiration.
Gala: Painting is a distortion of reality that depicts an interior state. It is an expression of the self, a self that others find within themselves. My area of interest lies in the landscape- the harmony and tumult, the sense of lawlessness and compliance. Silk and oil are the core components of my most recent work. The painting process is done in reverse; working from light to dark, smallest to largest, primary subject to background, slow drying against fast drying mediums, fluid fabric versus polymers
Reading these marks and images in an unconscious state brings us closer to a sensory enchantment of the artwork, governed more by brute feelings than wisdom or logic.
