DegreeArt.com is pleased to announce the group show 33% Pork. Curated by Robert Leech, 33%Pork is the third in a series of shows dedicated to an extended idea of painting. Featuring four artists who's work is bright, bold and positive the show explores paint, material and colour and their possible cultural spin-offs. The show's title references ideas about the purity of paint, but treats them more as a backdrop than a framework. Exploring paint's ability to mimic itself, the work sits between gaudy, stylish and thoughtful. Featuring 2 -dimensional work alongside liquid sculpture, velvet-lined boxes and digital imagery the show brings paint away from the canvas, undermining the medium and celebrating it at the same time.
