300 YEARS is a story in the age of the Anthropocene; of man and nature’s interwoven state. Milo Burridge surveys the remnants of our industrial culture in decline. Observing our underlying entanglement with nature, the artist views that our attempts to supersede it have been in vain.

About

Exhibited as part of the artist’s first solo show, Burridge presents a body of work which nods to the last 300 years - the time that has passed since the beginning of the industrial revolution in Britain. Burridge is further influenced by William Blake’s Jerusalem (1804); Blake’s apparent misgivings on the industrialisation of “Englands green & pleasant Land” are expressive in “[those] dark Satanic Mills”.
