30th Anniversary Exhibition

About

The annual New Year exhibition is more exciting than ever before, a fusion of new and established artists, made even more special as it shall be marking the gallery's 30 Year Anniversary. The exhibition is curated to showcase some of the most talented artists painting today, creating a pictorial narrative of the gallery's colourful history. Deborah's Tarr achingly beautiful oils are like modernist treasures protected by unique, antique frames that become part of the painting itself. Elise Ansel's pastiches of old masters are abstracted until they become purely sensual, juxtapose against Finnish artist Maiju Tirri's dramatic textured canvasses that hang like sculpture on the walls. All punctuated by realist painter Andrew Hunt's witty satires. Reflecting upon the route Cadogan Contemporary has taken since its founding leads you to Sargy Mann, one of the most extraordinary painters to come out of the UK in the past century. Since meeting Christopher years ago he has risen to be one of the world's leading contemporary painters, acclaimed by artists, collectors and critics alike. Sargy's extraordinary journey with deteriorating eyesight and finally into total blindness has astonishingly never stopped him from painting but rather allowed him to discover new ways of seeing. This exhibition allows us to celebrate the achievements of our artists who have been with us since the beginning, as well as looking to the future with new artists of exceptional talent. Roaring into the New Year, Cadogan Contemporary is thrilled to be celebrating thirty successful years with such a harmony of different artists and works. This exhibition is one not to be missed.
