Join our 3 week workshop in gel plate printing, exploring a variety of techniques and methods, working towards a final print work.
About
Gel plate printing is a mono-printing method that uses a gel (rubber) plate for printmaking. It is a relatively new material that makes printing at home or printing without a press easier and more accessible.
In this three week course you will learn about various printmaking processes using a 5” 5” gel plate, starting with mark-making and using stencils and stamps to create colourful and interesting multiple layered miniature prints.
After learning the basics you will then develop your own printing language, building on mark making, making your own stencil and stamp designs from Mylar and foam to create your own unique prints, working towards a larger final piece on a 9”x11” gel plate, using specialist printmaking paper.
By the end of this workshop series you will have expanded your printing vocabulary and come away with a large A3 finished print work.
Artbox London is a registered charity and social enterprise that runs art workshops, trips, exhibition and sales opportunities for people with learning disabilities and autism and all profits raised from this workshop will go towards supporting our artists.
