Martin Tinney Gallery celebrates its 25th anniversary with two major exhibitions of 20th Century & contemporary Welsh Art.

About

The gallery was launched in 1992 with a clear vision - to showcase and celebrate the work of leading Welsh artists, both past and present. In its tenure, it has provided a platform for the highest quality Welsh art and helped establish and nurture the career of many of Wales' best loved artists. The gallery has participated in many prestigious art fairs both at home and abroad and has become widely acknowledged as Wales' leading commercial gallery.

The exhibition is in two parts. Part I runs from 6th April - 6th May and will feature some of the most important pictures sold by the gallery over the years. It will include work by Augustus John, Gwen John, James Dickson Innes, Sir Cedric Morris, David Jones, Evan Walters, Edward Morland Lewis, Ceri Richards, John Piper, Evan Charlton, George Chapman, Merlyn Evans, Jack Jones, Josef Herman, Sir Kyffin Williams, John Elwyn, Ernest Zobole, Gwilym Prichard, Evelyn Williams, Peter Prendergast and John Knapp Fisher.

Part II of the Anniversary Exhibition will run from 11th May - 17th June and features the gallery's leading contemporary artists. There are exceptional  new works by Harry Holland, Shani Rhys James, Mary Lloyd Jones, Claudia Williams, Kevin Sinnott, Clive Hicks-Jenkins, Rosemary Burton,  Sally Moore, John Macfarlane, Sigrid Muller, Vivienne Williams, Meirion Ginsberg and others.

Both exhibitions showcase the very best of 20th Century and Contemporary Welsh Art and are a fitting celebration of the first 25 years of the gallery.
