20 Projects is pleased to present the second solo exhibition of new works by Laurence Owen. This latest series of paintings and drawings exhibited in 'Wish you were here' comments on the desirability or otherwise of certain experiences and their idealisation when represented in visual form. Unnerving but simultaneously alluring, Owen's nostalgic paintings avoid linearity of meaning and construct a dissonant logic of their own. Also exhibited will be Owen's felt tip drawings, the collective fading of which enacts the receding of the present into the past as a unifying yet empty inevitability.
