About
Richard Taittinger Gallery is honored to present the group exhibition, 1958-1963 American Pioneers of Castelli Gallery, a Tribute to Nassos Daphnis.
One of Leo Castelli’s most exhibited artists, Daphnis was a forerunner in the Minimalist art movement. This exhibition showcases the artistic dialog shared between Daphnis and the artists he was exhibited along side at a time where the New York art world had its eye on Abstract Expressionism.
The show demonstrates the collective works of Daphnis and Castelli’s other artists, such as; Lee Bontecou, John Chamberlain, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Salvatore Scarpitta, and Frank Stella, as pioneers of mid-century art.
