About

The successful 18@108 series continues to draw attention and is now in its fourth year following public demand. This is the second in the series of three disciplines featured in the 2009 programme and follows the popular 18@108:Stone. 18@108:Kinetic features six sculptors with a unique approach of exploring concepts based on movement, body, architecture and the emotional landscape. Alice Cunningham aims to provoke an instinctive, primal response to her work, believing that art has the power to evoke positive social change. Barry Mason's interest in landscape and natural forces direct him to the materials which best encapsulate his ideas. Greyworld, Andrew Shoben's interactive sculptures challenge the social and emotional expectations of a place, evoking a sense of wonder and intrigue. Andrew Stonyer's complex forms reference architecture and engineering, whilst Susan Williams' work deals with spirituality and environmental issues expressed in ethereal landscapes. David Worthington's striking stone sculptures are interactive and mobile.
