Ella Yolande is a visual artist driven by a curiosity around interspecies entanglements, metamorphic states and queer ecology. Her practice explores the fluidity and resilience of non-human organisms. Working across video, sculpture, textiles and text, she creates surreal biomes that reference microscopic life forms, sci-fi and botanical architecture.
Join us via zoom for a sharing of Ella's residency research, looking into plant hunters and the colonial histories of botanical gardens, along with attempts to access and experience these curated displays of ‘nature’ virtually. Ella will be showing a new work in progress and conducting a "crit" like discussion
Ella's residency is in collaboration and kindly supported by The NewBridge Project.
