About
UCS is proud to present a retrospective exhibition of the work of Bernard Reynolds in the centenary year of his birth. Works from the Reynolds family private collection will be featured, including previously unseen drawings and photographs.
Bernard Reynolds (1915-1997) was born in Norwich and lived for almost fifty years in Ipswich. Although he is best known as a sculptor, he was also an inspirational teacher at Ipswich Art School for several decades; and he fulfilled both of these roles with his own particular kind of integrity. Far from flamboyantly “arty”, Bernard’s approach was no less passionate for the application of a quietly rigorous self-imposed discipline to every project he undertook – and his projects were many and varied.
The exhibtion will be accompanied by a series of talks for further information please visit www.ucs.ac.uk/waterfrontgallery
