About
Artist Fung Yee Lick examines his recent phased thoughts on calligraphy as an artistic medium through his solo "A Few Things About Calligraphy". The showcase deliberately confines materials to the traditional tools of calligraphy - paper, brush, and ink - in over 20 works, creating an outward appearance that is not much different from traditional calligraphy exhibitions. However, the artist intends to broaden the possibilities of calligraphy by consciously changing the conventional interpretations of calligraphy, returning from issues such as language, body, cultural power to the reflection on the form and structure of calligraphy, and questioning why calligraphy has become art.
