Árpád Forgó (1972, Hungary) transmits the geometric tendencies of the 20th century’s classical modernism - overarching the 60s neo-avant-garde - into his artwork constructing technique evolving in the beginning of 21st century.
In the past ten years, Forgó has participated in several artist-in-residence programs worldwide, which practise, in course of time, became decisive part of his creative process. Select residencies include the fellowship of Hungarian Academy in Rome, a three-month program in Warsaw by Visegrad Fund, invitations to Australia, Norway, Spain and the United States; and recently to The Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai, and the Mark Rothko Art Centre in Latvia.
In 2019, he will be a resident artist of the prestigious The Josef and Anni Albers Foundation in the USA.
