The Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE) is offering a student membership of two years plus £1000 from the Gwen May Trust to eight recent printmaking graduates. Membership to the society includes the opportunity to participate in RE exhibitions for two years both nationally and internationally. Any printmaking graduate who has graduated between 2020 and 2023 can apply, there are two winners from each year.

Eligibility: The award is open to anyone who has studied printmaking on an undergraduate or postgraduate course (textile submissions are not eligible). All applicants must submit the requested documents of 6x images, PDF of image details and CV to be considered.

What you get: This is a cash prize of £1000 per winner. The prize also includes a two-year student membership to The Royal Society of Painter Printmakers. Membership in the society includes the opportunity to participate in RE exhibitions for two years both nationally and internationally.

Aidan Threlfall Trust Award: Calling Emerging British Painters

The purpose of the Trust is to encourage promising young painters. This could be through the award of a travel scholarship to provide inspiration and motivation for an individual’s work, or in the form of a grant towards the fulfillment of a specific project which would further their art education or career. One award is made each year. We invite painters to send proposals for travel or another project that would enhance your career development as an artist.

Eligibility: Our award is offered to a graduate (within two years of graduation) or a student in their final year of BA or MA course. They must be of British nationality and have studied or are studying at an art college in the United Kingdom. The applicant must be under the age of 28.

What you get: The artist selected will receive a grant of up to £2000

Aidan Threlfall Award, UK

Early-career artists working in figurative painting, drawing, or original printmaking are invited to apply for the NEAC Artist Scholarships 2024-25 worth over £5,000. The successful applicants will benefit from a scholarship prize (first prize: £5,000 and two runners-up receive £250 each) to support artistic development, as well as the opportunity to attend classes and develop mentoring relationships with the talented members of the NEAC.

Eligibility: Early-career artists working in figurative painting, drawing, or original printmaking. ‘Early-career artists’ include anyone who feels they are at the beginning stages of their professional artistic career as long as they are 18+ and living in GB.

What you get: As well as the monetary awards (1 x £5,000 and 2 x £250), NEAC Scholars can attend the NEAC Education Programme's workshops for free and are encouraged to develop mentoring relationships with the talented members of the NEAC.

Artes Mundi 11 Exhibition and Prize: £40K Cask Prize

Marking the start of its 21st year anniversary, Artes Mundi announces the call to nominate artists for Artes Mundi 11. Every nomination received will be reviewed by an independent jury. They will work with Artes Mundi to select artists for the biennial exhibition who also form a shortlist for the AM11 Prize.

Eligibility: Artists from anywhere in the world are eligible. It is expected that artists will be well known in their own country or region and will have some experience of exhibiting internationally, whereby they are considered emerging to mid-career.

What you get: The winning artist will receive £40,000

RSA MacRobert Art Award for Painting: £20K Available

The RSA MacRobert Art Award for Painting provides a research opportunity for a fine art painter. The award aims to provide the chance for a committed painter whose circumstances have, for whatever reason, made it difficult to focus on and develop their artistic talent.

Eligibility: To be eligible for the award, entrants must be painters who graduated at least 10 years ago or have at least 10 years of substantive practice. The selected artist must also have been born or currently living, in Scotland. The award is for artists working in fine art painting of any medium or subject.

What you get: Whilst the award is financial, £20,000, the real reward is the opportunity that the funds can directly, or indirectly provide/allow.

RSA William Littlejohn Award for Water-based Media Artists

The RSA William Littlejohn Award (£2000) for Excellence and Innovation in Water-based media.

Eligibility: Entrants must be working in water-based media (any pigment mixed with water). Entrants must either be born in Scotland or have been resident in Scotland for at least 3 years. In the case of students applying, entrants must either be graduating in 2024 or currently studying at postgraduate level at one of the following art schools in Scotland - Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen, Duncan of Jordanstone Collage of Art, Dundee, Edinburgh Collage of Art, Glasgow School of Art, and University of the Highlands and Islands.

What you get: A monetary award to research, develop, and produce a new body of work in a water-based medium An exhibition of selected completed work at the Royal Scottish Academy at a future date Acquisition of work into the RSA Permanent Collection; ‘A Recognised Collection of National Significance to Scotland

The STARTS award promotes new talent & creative wellbeing. It is a visual art & spoken word competition giving military artists & writers/performers the opportunity to exhibit their artwork in a professional gallery or to perform their writing on a professional stage, as well as receiving one-to-one coaching and workshops from industry experts.

Eligibility: The Armed Forces currently - serving or ex-service personnel or family members (18+).

What you get: Award winners will receive one-to-one coaching and mentoring from creative industry experts and group workshops and advice sessions on navigating creative industries and nurturing your creative practice. You will also have the opportunity to perform your writing on a professional stage on 17th October 2024 or to exhibit your work in a professional gallery from 17th October to 19th November 2024. Winners will be entitled to membership in The STARTS Award Creative Collective, an alumni programme of workshops and showcasing opportunities for graduates of The STARTS Award.

The ACS Studio Prize offers one student or recent graduate £6,000 to be used towards an artist's studio space in a UK city of their choice. This year, the prize winner and finalists will once again have the opportunity to feature in a group exhibition at Gurr Johns in St James, Central London.

Eligibility: The Prize is open to all UK and EEA nationals, who are undergraduate or postgraduate university students studying Fine Art and other creative courses.

What you get: £6,000 to be used towards an artist's studio space in a UK city of your choice.

Embracing Our Differences Outdoor Exhibition Open Call

Embracing Our Differences is seeking submissions for an outdoor juried art exhibit featuring 50 billboard size images created by local, national and international artists reflecting the theme "enriching lives through diversity and inclusion." The exhibit will be on display January 19 through April 13, 2025 in two locations in Sarasota and St. Petersburg in Florida. Cash prizes totaling $6,000 will be awarded.

Eligibility: All artists, All ages. Print, original artworks, photography 50 artworks are selected.

What you get: One adult and one student will receive $2,000 prize for "Best in Show"

Apply for the Artadia Awards 2024

The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure and recognition to artists. The awards are unrestricted, allowing artists to use the funds in any way they choose. Each year, an open-call application is made available in each of the seven active partner cities; they are Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Atlanta, and Houston. Supporting artists equitably is a critical part of the Artadia Award process: we consider the unique populations of each community and are proud to reflect our country’s diversity with an Awardee pool that is over 50 percent female and over 40 percent persons of color.

Eligibility: Applicants must be a contemporary visual artist, making artwork for presentation in a contemporary art context: museum, galleries, arts non-profit, the public art realm, etc. Artadia does not fund filmmakers making films for distribution in cinematic venues, or those working in choreography presented outside of a contemporary art context. Applicants must be currently living and working within the city’s eligible counties and residing there for at least two years prior to the application deadline. Full details in application link.

What you get: In addition to financial support, Awardees can participate in the Artadia Network to receive structured opportunities for valuable new connections and resource sharing as well as receive a dedicated webpage on Artadia’s online Artist Registry.
