Call for VisArts' Gibbs Street Resident Artists 2026 -2027

Qualified applicants are professional individual artists or collaborative artist teams over the age of 18. Students and commercial artists aren’t eligible to apply.
Who can apply: VisArts invites applications and proposals from local, national, and international artists for one of two six-month residencies at our studios in Rockville, Maryland.
What you get: Studio space is provided free of charge. Artists receive a $3,000 stipend ($500 a month). Gibbs Street Artists in Residence present their work in culminating solo exhibitions.

Wolfsonian creative fellowships invite artists of all kinds to immerse themselves in the collection and draw visual, conceptual, or storytelling inspiration from its wide range of historical materials. Grounded in the museum's exploration of modernity and visual culture from 1850 to 1950, the fellowship encourages creative research that connects historical ideas to contemporary practice. For the 2026–27 cycle, proposals are encouraged for projects involving, but not limited to, animation, moving image, generative media, sound-based work, or other experimental formats.
Who can apply: The fellowship is open to creatives with a demonstrated record of accomplishment working in visual, time-based, performative, or digital media. Applicants from a wide range of disciplines are encouraged to apply, particularly those interested in research-driven practice and interdisciplinary experimentation. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.
What you get: All fellows receive: A stipend ($1000-$1,500), round-trip travel, accommodations (if non-local), access to the collection and collections staff.

LUMINEX 4.0: Resonance of Connection - Request for Qualifications

LUMINEX is a world-class outdoor art and technology exhibition of renowned artists that offers the opportunity for creative voices to connect with the public at-large. We are inviting artists to send their qualifications to potentially be part of LUMINEX 4.0: Resonance of Connection, which will take place November 7 – 8, 2026 in downtown Los Angeles.
Who can apply: We are seeking multiple forms of art across disciplines which may include projection mapping, interactive pieces, sound, performance, sculpture, and other installations. Selected artists should be able to form concept proposals informed by the curatorial statement with the ability to be adjusted in terms of scale and site-specificity to physical location.
What you get: Compensation: There will be an artist honorarium of $1,000 for participants. Any production and technical costs will also be covered up to $60,000 based on review and approval of artist concepts.

2027 Embracing Our Differences International Art Exhibition

Artists and photographers worldwide are invited to submit artwork for the 2027 Embracing Our Differences international outdoor exhibition in Sarasota and St. Petersburg, Florida. This long-running public art exhibition uses large-scale imagery and creative expression to spark dialogue about kindness, inclusion, and our shared humanity.
Each year, 50 works are selected and reproduced on 16-foot billboard-sized panels displayed in public parks, reaching hundreds of thousands of visitors. The exhibition welcomes a wide range of artistic styles and perspectives that reflect themes such as identity, culture, equity, compassion, and social connection.
Eligibility: Open to students and adults worldwide, from amateur to professional artists, photographers and writers.
What you get: Selected works will be featured in the 2027 outdoor exhibition. $12,000 (USD) in awards will be presented across three categories: Best-in-Show Adult, Best-in-Show Student, and People’s Choice.

NARS Foundation invites international artists across all disciplines to apply for our three-, six-, or twelve-month residency program in Brooklyn, NY. Designed to foster artistic growth, cross-cultural exchange, and sustained dialogue, the program provides dedicated studio space, critical engagement opportunities, and connection to a vibrant creative community. Internationally based artists are welcome to apply at any time during the year via our rolling application.
Who can apply: Emerging and mid-career artists working in any discipline are welcome to apply. The program accepts both international and U.S.-based applicants.
What you get: Selected artists receive 24/7 access to a furnished, private or semi-private studio (250–300 sq ft), monthly one-on-one studio visits with 3-4 curators, artists, and arts professionals, and ongoing administrative, curatorial, and professional support. Residents participate in community-building programs such as weekly gatherings, inter-studio visits and activities, fieldtrips, artist/curator salons, and public programming events. Presentation opportunities include a curated exhibition, bi-annual Open Studios, talks, screenings, performances, and workshops. Residents also work alongside a community of emerging and established NYC-based artists who maintain year-round studios in our studio facilities. The program and facilities are designed to form a community, foster the expansion & exchange of artistic and cultural practices, and provide artists with exposure to New York and its art scene.
