Profiles Issue 4 - Calls for portraiture

Profiles seeks portraiture across all visual media for the fourth issue of our literary and vis-arts journal. We’re open to experimental twists on the definition of ‘portrait’ — we want to see a vibrant personality, however you’ve captured it. Selected artworks will appear in print and be featured in our exhibition at the James Joyce Centre in Dublin, Ireland, in November 2025.

Profiles is an independent journal dedicated to character studies and portraiture, supported by Dublin City Council. We feature work by writers, translators and artists living in Ireland and abroad.

Eligibility: No specific requirements for the artists - their submission must be a portrait and it must be printable (so no moving images or sculptures)

What you get: €200 per published work, plus opportunity to exhibit in the James Joyce Centre, Dublin.
