Artist in Residence

Peripheral Visions: Residency Call for European-based artists

Updated: 18 April 2024

The project will revolve around the theme of the relationship between industrial history and war history – a relationship that has determined the identity of the Italian-Slovenian cross-border area. Through the artistic residencies, we want to activate four different communities residing in the cross-border area between Italy and Slovenia. Therefore, the selected artists will be asked to come into contact with our audiences through a research agenda co-organized with the tutors. This will come in the form of a system of events, educational workshops, and video pills: activities that allow the artistic experience to be shared in the best possible way by the different communities. The residency will develop over a negotiable period (minimum 7 days in presence in the area) and the methods of delivery of the artwork created can be agreed upon, also providing for some deferred phases.

Eligibility: Professional and independent contemporary European artists (and immigrants in Europe) who have worked/are working on the project themes. Fluent English is necessary. Special attention will be given to applications from artists under 35 years of age.

What you get: The residency will be remunerated: a fee will be paid to each artist, based on the available budget. Transport and overnight stays will be covered by the project, as well as a daily allowance. A budget will be made available for the production of the artwork
