Artwork for the Rail to River Art Trail, Kings Lynn
Updated: 22 December 2022
King’s Lynn is looking for artists to create two pieces of public art for our town centre “rail to river art trail." Applications are invited to design and create 1 or both pieces that will enliven and inspire visitors to, and residents of the Town. Our intention is that the Trail forms part of a strengthening of art and culture in the Town’s public realm and the Town and wider Borough as a whole.
King’s Lynn has a strong connection to the water – both river and sea which has been slightly lost over time as the Town has developed. There is an opportunity through art to raise awareness of the role and impact of the river on the town’s future, to reconnect the Town centre to the riverfront, and at the same time create an extra reason for people to feel visit the Town / feel proud of where they live.
Eligibility: Open to both local and national artists.
What you'll get: Commission fee for the artists awarded along with local and regional promotion opportunities as part of a wider Norfolk wide art trail. Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk.
