BlackInk Launchpad: Amplifying African Diaspora Art in UK

Updated: 22 March 2023

Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage is seeking emerging artists from the African and African Caribbean Diaspora based in the UK to apply to Launchpad. The initiative works across all art forms to mentor and share their ideas and showcase their work as part of BlackInk, a magazine focusing on Black arts, heritage and cultural politics published each year for Black History Month. For Launchpad 2023, the commission seeks to support artists to navigate new multifaceted ways of working by developing a project that translated across a print magazine and online content.

Eligibility: Independent artists from the African and African Caribbean Diaspora and based in the UK (this includes England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and British Isles) are eligible to apply.

What you get: We are offering four artists a fee of £750 and the opportunity to feature as part of issue four of BlackInk. Selected artists will also receive support and mentorship, opportunities to build industry network, and will be considered for future opportunities.
