Apply for a 13-Week Residency at the North Sea Observatory, UK

The Collection welcomes proposals from artists, groups, and collectives to participate in a 12-week residency at the North Sea Observatory (NSO) in Chapel St. Leonards, Lincolnshire, UK. The residency will take place from Monday 31 July to Sunday 22 October 2023. We are interested in proposals from participatory artists who would like to explore the space and the human relationship to the coast, and whose practice centers around community participation
Eligibility: This opportunity is open to all artists, groups, and collectives who have up to five years of experience working in the United Kingdom. This 13-week paid opportunity is ideal for artists who are within the first 5 years of their practice.
What you get: Selected artists, groups, and collectives will receive a single fee of £6,699 for up to 13 weeks, which works out to £231/day. In addition, we are offering a production stipend of up to £2,000 for the creation of new work and materials for workshops. The results of these will be displayed in an exhibition at the end of the 12-week residency. The Collection will manage a budget of up to £1,000 to produce the exhibitions at the NSO and Usher Gallery. Please note that The Collection cannot offer any extra support for accommodation or sustenance.
