Living Summer School 2022: Living Blocks
Updated: 17 May 2022
The Living Summer School (LSS) is a yearly week-long educational program promoting social and territorial innovation in and around the city of Kortrijk, Flanders.
Our world is changing at an unprecedented rate. The network of social spaces that define our territories need to evolve to face increasingly challenging and complex circumstances.
Participants will reflect on and design modular and sustainable future blueprints of Kortrijk’s social spaces. They will also be required to bring them to life through different situated experiments. You'll be working in a team together with other students (artists, designers, scientist, architects, ...) and you'll have access to different makers spaces across the city as well as lectures, hands-on workshops and different forms of coaching.
The Living Blocks Summer School will end with an exhibition and an event where different communities in Kortrijk will be engaged in discussing the future of their territory with students.
Eligibility: The only requirement is to be between 18 and 30 years old, no previous education or level of expertise is required. You can be an activist, a scientist, an artist, a designer, an entrepreneur, an architect, everyone is welcome.
What you get: We provide a week packed with activities and networking opportunities, a final event and an exhibition. We offer all our students food and access to four makerspaces and workshops. We're currently working towards securing scholarships for all our students.
