SAND Literature & Art Open Call

SAND publishes risk-taking visual art, poetry, prose, and translations from a diverse, international range of voices. We want work that subverts, work that pushes against the boundaries of form, message, and voice. We have long been devoted to amplifying underrepresented voices and especially encourage submissions from artists and writers who are BIPOC, women, nonbinary, LGBTQ+, working class, disabled, neurodiverse, international, and/or geographically underrepresented.

Note: Send fiction, flash fiction, and poetry as early as possible: there’s a cap on submissions. Creative nonfiction is closed at this time.

Eligibility: Writers and artists producing visual art, poetry, fiction, flash fiction, and translations.

What you get: We pay semi-professional rates for each person we publish, and these rates vary based on our funding.
