Competition
Ocean Future Lab Open Call
Updated: 20 April 2022
Changemakers and creative minds from all disciplines are invited to apply for the first Ocean Future Lab competition. We are looking for ideas and projects that deal with oceans in context of the Anthroprocene, i.e. human impact on the natural environment. Civil society, artists, scientists and entrepreneurs will work together to find and initiate new solutions. If you are interested in the future livability of the oceans, we invite you to participate.
Eligibility: Any interested person or team is invited to apply. There are no restrictions based on gender, discipline or nationality.
What you get: Your work will contribute to a global sustainable transformation and the sustainability of oceans. You can network with other changemakers, be they artists, scientists or entrepreneurs, and with our partner network consisting of the German Alliance for Ocean Research, the Institute for Art and Innovation, the German Maritime Museum in Stralsund, the Maritime Museum in Bremerhaven, the Futurium Berlin and the Filmuniversity Babelsberg. The top 250 entries will be shown in an online exhibition at www.universal-sea.org. Furthermore, if your idea is selected for the hackathon (top 7 finalists), you will develop your project during 2.5 days, supported by mentors, scientists and innovators. Your project could be one out of three final winners, which would give you the opportunity to present your solution at the Entrepreneurship Summit (22.-23.10.2022) in Berlin.
