Thame Town Council Commission: Art Leading Wayfinding
Updated: 20 May 2021
We are seeking creative expressions of interest for a series of wayfinding markers across the Town. This commission should celebrate the heritage and history of Thame using the theme of ‘Meeting Places’, at the same time as improving communication routes through the Town. We are also keen to explore several pieces of standalone artwork -some with practical application – in various set locations around the Town that allow increased exploration of the heritage of these specific areas. We are looking for an artist (but would also consider a group of artists) who can also demonstrate successful experience of bringing the community together in the development of final designs. We will consider applications responding to all or smaller parts of the brief.
Eligibility: Open to any UK-based artist
What you get out of it: Project fee of £2,000 for the initial phase of research community engagement and design. Project fee of £38,000 to cover fee, production, construction, delivery and installation. Additional budget for standalone pieces of up to £30,000
