Rule Breakers: The Art of Invention

Updated: 20 May 2021

Calling all innovators, artists and visionaries! You're invited to share your experience and positive outcomes from the 2020 pandemic. In celebration of the emergence of invention and as part of the Peckham community, we are looking for three local artists of any discipline to collaborate with goya design on an exhibition and artists in residence programme at our studio in Peckham Levels. Artists can apply to one or both as they wish.

The exhibition centres on the process of invention and looks into how the pandemic created the perfect playground for visionaries and inspiration for new forms of creativity. We want to see artists' interpretations of invention; and how the pandemic shone a spotlight on creating something meaningful in reaction to what has been a tough year for many. This can be as broad and conceptual as you like.

Eligibility: Open to all artists, preferable those living in south London / near or in Peckham. We would especially like to hear from under-represented artists within the local community, we welcome all applications irrespective of experience or background.

What you get out of it: 3-6 months at our newly designed studio in Peckham; use of our space to network, skillshare, and create; access to drop-in studio times in return for 1-3 commissions across the programme.
