Prototype City Coventry - Open Call for Architects

We're looking for expressions of interest from architects, urban designers and spatial practitioners (as individuals or practices) based in the UK, to participate in a new international exchange programme, Prototype City Coventry. The deadline for expressions of interest has been extended to 5 May 2021.

The two selected participants will be paired with international architects and work together to address the urban landscape of two different sites in Coventry. Using co-design and collaborative processes, the teams will design prototypes for more inclusive and welcoming public spaces.

Eligibility: UK-based architects

What you get out of it: • Introduction to local and international project team; • Advice and contacts to relevant partners and stakeholders in Coventry; • A project producer who will be the main point of contact for participating architects and will ensure the smooth collaboration and delivery of the programme; • Grant payment of £2,000 • Coverage of all costs related to travel to Coventry (train costs, hotel if applicable, subsistence) for scoping visit (May and June 2021) * and for project implementation (September 2021) * *in case there are travel restrictions due to COVID-19 travel dates might need to shift • Coverage of materials and construction costs of the prototypes to a sum of £10,000 (per prototype) • Opportunities to participate in the wider cultural programme, including invitations to relevant events and engagements; • Exposure to new audiences and networks through profiling your practice across relevant online platforms and social media channels.
