Deptford X - The Walk

In partnership with The Migration Museum and The Walk, Deptford X are thrilled to announce this opportunity for an ambitious commission by a London-based artist with lived experience of migration. The selected artist will create a temporary public artwork to welcome Little Amal, a 3.5-metre puppet of a 9-year-old refugee girl travelling over 8,000km from Turkey to Lewisham this October. Applications from those with different language backgrounds are welcome, and the application pack can be provided in accessible formats.

Eligibility: Open Call for London based visual artists with lived experience of migration

What you get out of it: The total artist fee for the project, including workshop delivery, is £4000. The production/installation budget will be in addition to this and agreed with the selected artist as the project progresses.
