Open Call: The 3am Project

Updated: 01 June 2021

We are seeking words or artworks that respond to the ideas of sleepless nights and nocturnal offerings.

Taking inspiration from Frank Baker’s restless and conflicted letter, penned at 3am to his love Isabel in 1939 after an ambiguous encounter, we are calling for works that explore the things that keep us up or come to us in the middle of the night. What swims in our psyche after dark that must be expressed? What are you called to say or create with urgency at 3am? What stirs us from slumber or reaches us in hazy moonlit interludes?

Young artists/writers, students, early career artists/writers and those with a more established practice are all encouraged to enter.
