Artist in Residence
Artist Lock In 2021
Updated: 08 June 2021
Calling artists and makers from all disciplines for an unforgettable experience in the Island of Jersey.
The Artist Lock-In is the flagship interdisciplinary residency project produced by ArtHouse Jersey. We are seeking artists, and individuals working in the arts, from all backgrounds and practices to apply for this inspiring experience.
Facilitated by Sue Hill (Wildworks, Eden Project), artists will be led through a fast-paced programme of activities and exercises, working together to learn from each other’s practice and to respond to the natural environment. Away from the distractions of everyday life, the Artist Lock In encourages an atmosphere in which to explore new approaches and different styles of making.
This is a supported opportunity to fill your lungs with fresh sea air, step out of your comfort zone and collaborate with artists from across the globe without the pressure of a deadline or expectation of a fully finished outcome.
Eligibility: We welcome artists of all disciplines and backgrounds. You must be over the age of 18, professionally committed to your craft and regularly present work to an audience either through performance, exhibition, showcase or targeted community outreach. Due to travel restrictions artists must have been in the UK 14 days prior to the Lock In.
What you get: As the name suggests the Artist Lock In is fully residential and so full-board accommodation will be provided with all meals catered for. Participants will stay in Greve De Lecq Barracks for the entirety of the project.
To apply: Email francesca (at) arts (dot) je for information pack and application form
