Open call for three project fellowships to realise an artistic project that addresses the history of the SchUM communities and their religious, cultural and architectural legacy. SchUM stands for an association of the three German cities of Speyer, Worms and Mainz, that was unique for the whole of Ashkenaz, the impact of which is still evident today.
The call for applications is open to professional artists from around the world working in the following areas: visual and media art, architecture, design, music and literature. The residency will last for 4 to 6 weeks and is scheduled between October 2021 and February 2022 (start date is in 2021). Fellows will work and live in one of the three ShUM cities (Worms, Speyer or Mainz).
Eligibility: Professional artists in the areas of visual and media art, architecture, design, music and literature.
What you get out of it: A rent-free, furnished apartment, a studio/work room, travel expenses up to € 1,000, allowance of € 250 per residency week and a contribution to other expenses (materials or services) of up to € 1,000.
