Up Your Street

Up Your Street will support three outstanding, diverse emerging artists to produce an innovative artistic intervention in the streets where they live. We are looking for artists that want to explore new ways of engaging with audiences by bringing art literally to the streets where they live to give local communities an uplifting, one-of-a-kind positive and transformative experience.

Inspired by the way art and creativity filled our streets throughout lockdown in the form of impromptu performances, rainbows, tributes to the NHS and other unique community moments, we would like to take this experience to the next level by commissioning artists to create a ‘happening’ of their design from the frontage of their own house or street.

Eligibility: New, emerging and mid-career artists, based in Leicester or Leicestershire

What you get out of it: A £1500 bursary, an additional production budget of up to £500 for materials and/or engagement resources, a mentor and coach to support you in the actualisation of the installation and next-step career development.
