The AF seeks guides for a new series of walking tours to be launched this summer

Updated: 19 May 2017

The Architecture Foundation is launching a new series of architect-guided walks unearthing our city’s unparalleled built environment for all. Masterminded by Merlin Fulcher, a regular programme of daily, weekly and monthly expert-led walks will offer keen urbanists and first-time visitors alike fresh insights into the capital’s most iconic buildings and places.

The series launches in July with A Tale of Three Cities – three two-hour tours exploring the Architecture of Money in the City of London, the Architecture of Power in Westminster, and Architecture of Life on the South Bank. The Architecture Foundation is keen to hear from architects and built environment professionals at all stages in their careers who may be interested in participating in the programme as tour guides. Key skills required include enthusiasm for London and its architecture, public speaking and an awareness of customer needs and the surrounding public. After completing training tour guides will receive a guaranteed share of tickets funds, typically at least £200 for each walk.

To apply, send a brief CV and covering letter outlining your general availability (tours will last two hours each and be held Mon-Sun) to tours@architecturefoundation.org.uk along with 250 words describing a building or place in the capital you find fascinating. The deadline for applications is 1st June. Interviews will be held on Friday 9th June.

Deadline: 1 June 2017
