Rosemary Beach Sculpture Exhibition

RBSE is a juried outdoor public art project running from May through October 2017. Sculptural works are selected for the expansive greens and pocket gardens of Rosemary Beach, referencing and building upon its New Urbanist design history

Sculptors with documented experience in design and construction of outdoor sculpture are invited to submit their work. Locations for sculptures can accommodate works of various dimensions and presence.

Sculptures must adhere to the following:

  • Pose no risk of injury to the public (i.e. sharp edges, slip hazards).

  • Must be able to be semi-permanently fixed to a heavy base.

  • Sculptures must not require maintenance.

  • Works must be able to withstand all weather conditions, high temperatures, humidity and salt.

  • Sculptures must be guaranteed against defects and deterioration.

  • Works on this public art platform may be touched, climbed on, etc. by the public and therefore must be safe and stable.

  • Sculptures will be viewed in-the-round.

  • Only original, complete works of art created by the artist.

To apply, please submit the following materials to apply@rosemarybeachsculpture.org. Only complete applications will be considered:

  • Artist CV, outlining education, training, exhibition and project histories

  • Artist statement

  • Title, medium, dimensions and year of work being submitted

  • Low res images (multiple angles) of sculpture

  • Low res images of previous relevant projects, substantiating experience in the construction of outdoor sculpture. Please include title, medium, dimensions and year for each work.

  • Dimensions (no parameters)

  • Specification of all materials, accompanied by an explanation of how these materials will withstand environmental elements

  • Contact details: email, address and phone number

Twelve to twenty sculptures will be selected based on the quality of concept, design and execution, as well as how they meet the project goals. Please note that there is a $30 submission fee required to apply for this opportunity.
Exhibition dates: May, 2017 - October, 2017.
