GROUND-BREAKING ART EXHIBITION IS A REAL SUMMER TREAT
A new breed of contemporary, edgy art will be making its grand debut at the Hortensia Gallery in Kensington and Chelsea College.

The public exhibition, entitled "The Real Summer Show" highlights the creative talents of 14 emerging artists studying on the college's Professional Development Advanced Sculpture course.
Described as "mirroring the controversial and unpredictable world we inhabit today", the ground breaking collection will run between May 21 -28, and combines an exciting mix of sculpture, photography and collage.
The pieces displayed explore attitudes towards cultural differences, environmental and climate issues, autobiographical family depictions, isolation and solitude within communities, sexuality, censorship and war.
Works exhibited from local student as well as far away as Orkney and Iraq.
Exhibitions guests also have the opportunity to buy the exclusive pieces being showcased by the art world?s rising stars, as well as meet the artists at the Private View being held on Thursday May 20 , 6pm - 9pm.
Student Dean McMillan is among the artists exhibiting their work. He said: "If you only make it to one art show this year" this is the place where you can witness the birth of the next generation of ground breaking artists going against the grain. Our work is a charismatic presentation of "the new art" which embraces creativity over commerce."

The event is free to attend and takes place between May 21-28, at the Hortensia Gallery, Kensington and Chelsea College, Hortensia Road, SW10 0QS. Gallery opening times are: Monday - Wednesday 10am - 9pm. Thurs - Fri, 10am - 5pm.
