Peckham Space

Peckham Space is a socially engaged contemporary art programme in south east London, that launched in
June 2008. The programme focuses on participation
and new media in the public realm. It will deliver four
commissions prior to opening a new public gallery on
Peckham Square in 2009.

Peckham Space marks the start of a new partnership
between Camberwell College of Arts, University of the
Arts London and Peckham Programme, Southwark
Council. Peckham Space aims to increase opportunities
for participation with contemporary art and establish an
innovative model for artists to work in the context of
regeneration.

Each commission will feature workshops, public talks and
events that lead to the creation of new socially engaged
artworks made in response to the locale of Peckham.
