"Jigsaw": an exhibition by a group of 31 young and dynamic photographers. The show introduces a new and exciting mixture of talent spanning different genres within the photographic medium.
The work ranges from large-scale prints to books, of which there is a room upstairs where you can sit and relax while leafing through. The room showcases various publications, including Richard Fleming's documents of the prostitutes from Kent's largest red light district, and Fee Robson's candid pictures of teenagers from post-conflict Bosnia.
This group show spans a wide range of concepts and ideas but also in format, from the digitally manipulated urban landscapes from Alex Mackenzie to the fibre -based darkroom prints that explore sexual desire and death by Margaret Holmes and Harriet Scott's leather bound canvases. In addition to still photography, 'Jigsaw' also hosts moving imagery, including Frankie Lodge's 'I am my own sculpture', which explores how muscles create movement and symmetry.
Alongside the show, the space will be hosting two well-established photographic artists to give a talk on their work on the Friday and Saturday evening.
