About

THIS LECTURE IS TAKING PLACE AT THE NEW ART CENTRE New Art Centre Roche Court East Winterslow Wiltshire Salisbury SP5 1BG Using live work Manual (2013) as a starting point, Siobhan Davies discusses her understanding of choreography as a collaborative contemporary practice in relation to dance, film and visual arts. Commencing with a demonstration of Manual, choreographed by Davies in collaboration with dance artist Helka Kaski, Davies explores the concept of the body as an archive of movement. Manual draws attention to simple movements, meticulously dismantling their timing and order to encourage us to notice how we orchestrate actions. The demonstration also features an extract of the film All This Can Happen (2012), created by Davies with filmmaker David Hinton. To book contact: edu@sculpture.uk.com / 01980 862802
