Isaac Willis
About
Footfall Art is delighted to present Isaac Willis.
Image culture has changed irrevocably since the arrival of the internet, and this notion is the primal beginning of Isaac's painting. Focusing on the new age of image culture that is dominated by screen technology, Isaac seeks to examine the difference between paint and visual screen technology using a mix of historical painting methods and digital drawing tools. Employing images from contextual similarities akin to a Google search, Isaac offers a kind of freedom in looking, bringing the tradition of painting to a modern, digital subject.
Isaac completed his BA in Fine Art at the University of Creative Arts in 2014, during which time he also studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna on the Erasmus programme. Exhibitions include ''Language Fails at Transition Gallery, London, 2014; Doors in the Wall at Bearspace, London, 2014 and the shortlist exhibition for the Hans Brinker painting prize, 2012 in Amsterdam.
