Dylan Thomas Notebooks

About

This exhibition brings to Swansea for the first time, the four poetry Notebooks written by Dylan Thomas between 1930 and 1934, and the Red Prose Notebook that also dates from this time. These exceptional items are accompanied by letters which refer to the poems and the processes involved in their writing, and a self-portrait Dylan drew on the back of a letter to his friend, Pamela Hansford Johnson. The Notebooks and letters are on loan from State University of New York at Buffalo, and exhibited in partnership with the National Library of Wales, and complemented by drawings of his friends from the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery Collection. The exhibition is curated as part of Swansea Council's year-long Dylan Thomas 2014 Festival. Entry is free. Everyone welcome, no booking required. This exhibition takes place at Dylan Thomas Centre, Somerset Place, Swansea, SA1 1RR. dylanthomas.com
