Low lying cloud formation captured
Finish born Axel Antas’ multi-disciplinary practice encompasses photography, drawing and video. However, regardless of medium, recent work further develops what could be considered the artists interest in displacement and the abstraction of the self as physical entity.

Axel Antas' work at the Rokeby is a beautiful selection of line drawing and photographic work - each delicate and mysterious within their own medium boundaries. One of my favourites is a faint drawing of a dead bird that seems to lie between the paper and another reality. Clouds hover in magical forests in a selection of photogrpahs in the basement. A great show.
