Public House Projects is pleased to present a group show of recent graduates from Camberwell and Chelsea.

Milo Belgrove: Untitled, 2012. Mixed media, dimensions variable.
The main thing about the work is that it tries to detail open and closed body language as a reflection of my own interactions in life. It’s about friendship, love, nuances, nature and fun - all the cliches. It mainly reflects my desire for a long, hot summer.
Hannah Josephine Collins: Half-a-Jaffa, 2012. Mixed media installation.
The work included in this exhibition is a continuation of an exploration of the role the colloquial voice plays in the documentation of the past and the creation of national identity. The failures of historical documentation are explored by processes of reproduction and repetition. Elements of installations reappear in multiple works where like actors they play different roles and provide different responses, rebelling against the fixed status of objects and questioning their value in the present with knowledge of their past.

My work plays with the struggle to fit a gesture within the boundaries of the surface; considering the close ratios of the brush to the board and how each limits the potential of the other. These paintings integrate ideas behind
minimalism and industrial-made objects with man-made gestures.
Tom Marriott: Untitled Triptych 2012. Mixed media.
Everything around me is folding and reflecting knowledge. I can see it, but I can’t understand it all, it is a mess.
Veiled in meaning from having existed as an object and before that as a photograph, and even before that as an idea.The triangles and the images are a metaphor for the layering and systematised inflation of ideas of modernity.

My practice is an interrogation of drawing as a three dimensional process. I am particularly interested in
confusing manual diagrams. This investigation results in large- scale photographs of handmade linear objects
constructed from black foam board and modeled on manual diagrams from IKEA and household appliances.
From afar the photographs appear to be skewed drawings and float in blank space. Ambiguity and uncertainty are
inherent in my practice. The objects exist somewhere within the construction or deconstruction process without the possibility of ever knowing or locating it.
Ferruccio Potenza: Our ancestors never had to navigate the cosmos at speeds close to the speed of light, 2012.

I am unable to convey the scale or magnitude of a nuclear explosion or the vastness of outer space so I use
everyday materials that I understand and are readily available to me. There is a sad joke in a mass-produced gold star sticker that symbolises individual achievement or a hooded jumper that allows people to fashion the cosmos.
To varying degrees we all identify ourselves and locate others through fashion.
