Susan Light: A Doll's House

These paintings represent a series of contemporary narratives; some imaginary, some based on actual historical events or biblical paintings. Susan Light is interested in representational and political painting - political in the widest sense. Through sketches and studies from a variety of sources: historical references, old doll magazines, as well as studies of real dolls and toys in studio set-ups, she is developing a cast of characters to inhabit and create their own world.
