Event detail
Clive details the built world around us in a way which mixes architectural drawings and freehand sketching. Working in situ or from his own photos he seeks new perspectives of well-known and admired structures. Coming from a technical background, he is fascinated by how construction materials and methods dictate much of the final scale, form and texture of a building. This exhibition is a personal list of buildings in the UK and France which he has enjoyed studying and then sketching. In particular he has focussed on the charming buildings at the heart of Pinner. He works in a small scale, usually showing just part of a building and often comparing it against the neighbouring landscape. He believes that being colour blind, although not aiding his choice of fashion or driving skills, helps him to easily spot tones and textures.
